Peterborough Panthers 56, Lakeside Hammers 37

HAMMERS' hopes of heading the end of season Elite League standings were dashed at Peterborough.

With just one meeting apiece left, Hammers lie two points behind leaders Poole, who have a significantly better points difference.

Secure in second place, Hammers complete their normal season fixtures with a return fixture against Peterborough tomorrow, while Poole go to Ipswich next Thursday.

From the moment Daniel King lead the way home in the first heat tonight, Hammers were always up against it, despite a brave 10 point showing from guest Lewis Bridger and 13 points from Andreas Jonnson, which included a tactical six point succes in heat seven after Hammers found themselves ten points adrift.

He came back to win heat 11 but by then the night was a lost cause for the visitors.
