Jay Leader has left Grays Athletic after the club cancelled his registration forms and has joined Ryman One North outfit Cray Wanderers.

Leader, who has built a reputation as one of the the Ryman Premier League's finest defenders, had held talks with Cray after they put in a seven-day approach for his services.

But, earlier in the week, Blues insisted Leader remained registered, despite missing Saturday's 3-1 win against Farnborough.

However, he has now joined Cray, who are among the favourites to win promotion to the Ryman Premier League this season.

Elsewhere, winger Alex Addai has joined Wingate & Finchley on loan.
