Welling United 4–0 Grays
From Park View Road
FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round replay
A FOUR-GOAL salvo from Xavier Vidal ended Grays Athletic’s chances of reaching the first round of the FA Cup.
The Welling man scored all the goals on the night, following Saturday’s 1-1 draw, with a penalty miss from Sean Cronin at 1-0 proving costly.
The lower level visitors made the brighter start but it was the hosts that took the lead after 23 minutes. Ricky Wellard played in Vidal and although Lamar Johnson saved the first effort the rebound was tucked home.
Michael McEntegart denied Cronin five minutes into the second-half with a fine save, and six minutes later it was 2-0.
Michael Bakare’s centre was headed home by Vidal, with the same man claiming his hat-trick shortly after the hour mark.
Substitute Bakare got another assist and Vidal’s drilled effort was well placed.
The fourth goal came with 14 minutes remaining, with another precise finish from Vidal.
Grays: Johnson, Siva, Cronin, Leader, Ifill, Bentley, Michael-Percil, Agyemang, Dumaka, Carlos, Agombar
