Yaxley 1–3 East Thurrock United
From Leading Drove
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round
EAST Thurrock United breezed into the next round of the FA Cup after a comfortable win at Yaxley.
Only three days after the original match was abandoned due to a serious injury to Kris Newby, Rocks beat the side from the United Counties League.
A brace from Sam Higgins, plus a strike from George Craddock were enough, despite a late rally by the hosts.
Yaxley scored through Matt Gearing and missed a penalty in an incident that saw Rocks defender Rickie Hayles sent off, his second red card this month after his dismissal in the league match with Hendon.
East Thurrock will travel to Ryman One South side Carshalton Athletic in the second qualifying round.
East Thurrock: Lidakevicius, Sammons, Knott (Bryant), Scott, Hayles, Craddock, Honesty, Gilbey, Higgins (Wood), Smith (Walker), Wraight
