Cheshunt 1-1 Aveley
From Theobalds Lane
Ryman One North
AVELEY secured a battling point against play-off hopefuls Cheshunt to continue their strong end to the season.
The Millers had Andres Tobon to thank for a point after his stunning late free-kick meant a share of the spoils.
It should have been Aveley that took an early lead however, with Kyle Asante shooting just over after good build-up play from David Fallah and Tobon.
And Cheshunt made the most of that missed chance when they opened the scoring after 30 minutes. Dave Kendall buried a header to make it 1-0, with a Tobon free-kick straight at the goalkeeper the closest Aveley came in the half.
The second half was a tighter affair, with the first real chance not coming until 20 minutes before the end of the match.
A delivery was sent in by Fallah and substitute Michael Pindy’s far post header cannoned off the woodwork.
That was a warning sign and four minutes later the scores were level as Tobon found his range and curled beyond the goalkeeper.
Aveley: Marrable, Dunn, Conway (Olumbe), Oseyemi, Okwera, Edwards (Retkoceri), Tobon, Yala, Asante (Pindy), Fallah, Seymour
