Player-of-the-match went deservedly to George Rowe and most improved player of the match went to Nathan Dine for his efforts, but it was a full team performance.

The next points came from Thurrock’s Kieran Yeomans who chased down the ball and dived over the line. Unfortunately Kieran’s conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

It was an echo of the last time the two met when Maldon slipped through during a lapse in concentration to score a soft try.

This time Thurrock were determined to keep the pressure on and Owain Batley powered his way over the line for an unconverted try to see the game turn around at 17-5 to the Tees youngsters.

After the restart, Thurrock’s Elliot Sharratt scored with a well-time run but Yeomans conversion went wide.

Maldon hit back but Thurrock’s Nathan Dine hit back with a try.

But Maldon were not finished, and pushed Thurrock hard.

Then Thurrock’s Eddie Stevens weaved his way through Maldon’s tired defence to score the final try of the game. Kieran’s conversion attempt unfortunately again going wide just missing the mark.
