East Thurrock 1, Tooting and Mitcham 0 FOOTBALL: A LATE winner from Sam Collins settled a poor-quality match in favour of East Thurrock on Saturday.
Tooting – who are now 11 points short of safety – held out for 82 minutes before Collins turned in Kye Ruel’s cross to settle it from close range.
Ruel then hit the bar late on, and top-scorer Sam Higgins was denied by a post, as John Coventry’s promoted side picked up three points to keep up their solid season in the Ryman Premier Division and with the prospect of League Cup silverware very much in the minds of all at Rookery Hill. East Thurrock: Wray, Sammons, Stephen, Peddie, Gorbell, Gilbey, Newby, Hall, Higgins, Collins, Cohen.
