Orsett slipped a disappointing 38-run defeat at bottom-club Harold Wood.
Wood posted a target of 196, with Kevin Gibson thumping an unbeaten 87 to anchor the innings against an Orsett attack led by Mohammed Ahktar (4-60) and George Pavitt (3-42).
Orsett must have fancied their chances of snatching a victory, but they were skittled for 158 in reply following a batting collapse down the order.
Ahktar (45), Kevin Sargent (30) and Jason Plom (27) led the early resistance, but Rizwan Qureshi (7-46) ripped through the tail to finish the visitors off and leave them with a second league defeat.
