PARALYMPICS: Essex's Robin Womack has a medal on his mind as he steps up his preparations for the forthcoming IPC World Championships in New Zealand.

The Southend-based 39-year-old will this week arrive at Great Britain’s holding camp in Auckland ahead of the international event which later this month.

And the wheelchair-bound shot-putter is determined to produce a good performance.

“I’m feeling strong and would love to go and get a medal out there,” said Womack.

“I would be over the moon if that could happen and it’s what I’m aiming for because I have been making improvements all season and training has been going well too."
