Thurrock 0 Dartford 2 FA TROPHY: Thurrock succumbed to FA Trophy defeat against a sparky Dartford side at Ship Lane.

After a tight opening the Darts took the lead in the 18th minute when a cross from Thurrock’s right hand side was headed in at the far post by Carl Rook.

Fleet responded well and put pressure on the visitor’s defence, with shots from both Tamer Tuna and Matt Bodkin flying over the crossbar from within the penalty area.

As the half came to a close the visitors had an appeal for a penalty turned down when the referee adjudged that Phil Anderson had not handled in the area.

Thurrock came out strong in the second half and early on Rob Swaine headed wide from Matt Bodkin’s pinpoint cross.

On the hour a flowing Thurrock move saw sub Lee Roache’s chest back find Dean Cracknell but the midfielder could only shoot straight at Andrew Young in the Dartford goal.

Thurrock sub Craig Dobson was causing the visitors all sorts of problems and his excellent cross found Matt Bodkin but Bodkin couldn’t control his shot.

Dartford won the game in the 82nd minute when Rook scored his second of the game with a well directed shot from within 12 yards out.
