Belhus 1st 276-6 Locksbottom 1st 208-8 CRICKET: Joe Joyce struck his maiden century as his club enjoyed a social fixture which launched the Metropolitan Kent club's cricket week.

Joyce hit a magnificent 118 which included three sixes, the third of which brought up his century, along with no fewer than 17 fours.

Then Ryan Wells, batting at number four, hit eight fours in a knock of 55. Four other Belhus batsmen reached double figures in this run-fest, being George Brooks 17, Ben Kent 27, Jack Panteli 12 and Danny Norris, undefeated on 18.

Dowlin returned the best bowling figures for the hosts, with 2-32 from seven overs, picking up the vital wicket of centurion Joyce.

After the break, every Locksbottom batsman reached double figures, with the exception of opener Rippingale, who was caught by Kent off the bowling of Connor Day (2-45 from seven overs).

Panteli also picked up two wickets at a cost of 31 runs from four overs, while Sam Hall, Michael Cansdale, Norris and Brooks picked up a wicket each.
