In the recent Matchplay Cricket (Under 16) match Horndon on the Hill outclassed West Essex. Horndon made 257-3, with West Essex only able to muster 190. Ryan Cutts top scored for Horndon with a quick fire 70. But an opening stand of 92 between George Byron, 56, and Tom Stone, 25, was the key with support coming from Conner Price, 56, and Gary Ginsburgh, 25.
In reply Rob Williams, James Stitson, Bradley Mason, Dan Petts all contained the West Essex batsman but it was Cutts who took 6-13 to seal victory in the 37th over.
