Tey Lynn-Jones says he is ‘absolutely gutted’ after he was forced to withdraw from a world title fight because of injury.
The Grays fighter was scheduled to box WBC World Youth Champion Ramil Gadzhyiev in Azerbaijan, having moved up to Super Middleweight to accept the bout.
But an injury means his return to the ring has now been put on hold.
“I unfortunately had to pull out due to injury,” said the 23-year-old. “I was devastated beyond belief but it was the right thing to do.
“I’m young and at the beginning of my career so I have plenty of time and hopefully I get the chance again.
“We have put it to his team asking if they can delay it or try to have the fight scheduled again in the near future.
“I have just got to believe everything happens for a reason and I will get another chance.”
