Tey Lynn-Jones is heading overseas after agreeing to fight WBC World Youth Champion Ramil Gadzyyiev in Azerbaijan next month.

The Grays fighter has put his British title ambition on hold, a month after winning the Southern Area belt against Matt Legg in Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old will be stepping up to Super Middleweight for the bout but, despite being underdog against the Ukranian world amateur champion, Lynn-Jones is relishing the challenge.

“I have faced disadvantages before, it just makes me want to train harder,” he said. “I have a good record of going into fighters’ back yards with all their support against me, which only inspires me more to ‘shut them up’.

“I’m so buzzed to travelling abroad to fight and for the WBC Youth World Title belt. That belt comes with so much prestige and recognition. This will undoubtedly be my hardest ever fight. I can’t wait to bring this belt home to Thurrock.”

Lynn-Jones thanked sponsors Micky Norcross and The Sugar Hut, Marcus Walters The Raw Coach, Marc Gallagher & LockIT logistics, Dave Sach & Oakfield Clinic, Simon Holcombe Wu-sh & Tick Construction.
