A TERRIFIC first 45 minutes helped Thurrock to an emphatic 3-1 victory against Enfield Town.

Goals from Jordan Clark, Perry Dunn and Joe Christou put Fleet 3-0 up at the interval in the Isthmian Premier League clash.

Mickey Parcell pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining but it was too little too late by that stage.

Clark got the first on 16 minutes, sweeping home a cross by Remi Sutton, whose marauding runs down the flank were a problem all afternoon.

And two quickfire goals at the end of the half all but ended the contest.

Dunn’s thumping header from a Christou corner made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time and the latter was on target four minutes later – finishing from a Clark centre.

Aveley thumped lowly Romford 5-1 to continue their recent resurgence in the Isthmian North.

Captain Connor Witherspoon got the first goal of the game after 12 minutes but then Alex Teniola took over.

The striker scored three times in a 24 minute spell either side of half-time to ensure all three points for the Millers.

Romford pulled a goal back through Bryan Kyungu but Anthony Martin had the last laugh as Aveley took the victory.

Grays Athletic’s belated play-off hopes were hit by a 2-1 defeat at Mildenhall Town.

Matt Green and Jake Shaw goals had Town in charge and although James Folkes pulled one goal back it wasn’t enough.

Tilbury claimed a much-needed win against fellow strugglers Ware as they ended a tricky run of results with a 2-1 triumph.

Siju Odelusi had opened the scoring on 25 minutes.

But that lead lasted only 11 minutes to manager Joe Keith’s frustration.

But Toby Aromoloran got the winner three minutes into the second half to move Tilbury further away from the relegation position.
