HORNDON-ON-THE-HILL continued their impressive form in SNEL Division Two to make it four wins on the trot.

Winning the toss, the home side put Old Southendian into bat as Connor Hammond (4-38) made use of the overcast conditions and was just too good for the visitors.

A superb 10 overs of swing demolished the top order, leaving Old Souths struggling on 60/6 before they were bowled out for 112.

Horndon made swift work of the run chase, Tom Stone (78) hitting the bowlers to all parts of the field and was backed up well by the cautious Jack Walsh (21).

The 2s were seven-wicket winners against Ardleigh Green 2s to take their tally to 10 wins from 10 this season.

Andrew Clark picked up figures of 5-13 and Horndon made easy work of the run chase with Mike Canavon top scoring with 41 not out.

The 3s were comfortable nine-wicket winners against their Leigh-on-Sea counterparts to stay top of the table.

The 4s were beaten by Benfleet, falling to a three-wicket defeat.
