NOTHING could separate Aveley and Tilbury as the two played out an entertaining goalless draw at Chadfields in the Ryman North.

Neil Richmond had the first effort of the match but his drive was well blocked by Lamar Johnson in the away goal.

Back came Aveley, with Jeremiah Maja shooting off target when well placed. Tommy Spillane then shot off target as the pressure intensified, although Tilbury always looked dangerous on the break.

Several yellow cards punctuated the first period but it remained goalless at the interval.

The ball found the net inside the first six minutes of the second period, but Maja’s close range effort was ruled to be scored from an offside position.

McCullock tested home stopper Lee Butcher and the Millers attacker came even closer seconds later as his powerful effort was tipped onto the crossbar by the goalkeeper superbly.

Jack Edwards and Maja shot narrowly off target, with Tony Martin coming close to getting the decisive goal for the hosts.

Johnson was required to make a late save as it ended all square.

A late goal denied Grays Athletic a share of the points against Lowestoft Town in the Ryman Premier League.

Jake Reed put the hosts ahead after 17 minutes with a well taken finish and that was how it stayed until half-time.

However, David Fallah levelled midway through the second period and it looked set to stay that way.

But Reed had other ideas and scored with four minutes remaining to break Blues hearts.
