DISAPPOINTINGLY Pegasus’ XV Cup game was cancelled as their opponents Kings Cross Steelers, forefitted the game on Saturday morning.

This left it to Pegasus IIs to keep up wining ways and the club’s ongoing feelgood factor as they beat Maldon III 34-10.

In tough underfoot conditions, Pegasus lost the early upfront battle as their hosts’ larger pack dominated and pushed them over for the opening try.

However, Pegasus’ mobile pack began to keep the ball moving and away from contact, so in their flowing, off-loading game Pegs took a 17-5 lead into half-time.

Maldon started the second half stronger and after a surging run from their number eight – which saw veteran thirds captain Alex Branton bounced out of the way – their winger touched down.

With both conversions being missed, the All-Stars still had a converted try gap at 17-10, so could still play with freedom that their first half offloading game needed.

Pegasus’ dominance at the line-outs, won all afternoon by flanker Simon Bloke, ultimately providing the attacking platform for the team to rack up a six-try winning performance.

A brace of tries from number eight Greg Bramwell and substitute Ryan Madder, supported by Charlie Mack and James Polelack.

Hovells added two conversions on the day.
