THURROCK’S injury crisis meant that they had 11 first choice players unavailable for their London One North encounter at home to Colchester.
But the T’s kept high-flying Colchester honest before eventually going down 28-10.
Colchester had the more settled side and when they had the opportunity were able to take the limited chances. Three converted tries from the visitors against a Tom Worsfold penalty was the scores in first half.
Thurrock again came out with plenty of spirit and clawed their way back with a well worked and deserved forward from Reece Durrance, well converted by Worsfold to close the gap. Thurrock continued to press but could not find a way over despite going close on several occasions.
The game was settled with five minutes to go as Colchester bagged their fourth try to secure a bonus point victory.
