THREE swimmers from Thurrock Swimming Club have been called up to represent Essex at the Junior InterCounty competition in Luton next February.
Gracie Mae Martin, 11, Jamie Speers, 11, and Mide Olajide, 10, will help Essex defend their title which theywon last year.
Meanwhile, the club’s Kieron Harris competed at the home of the British Para-Swimming Team at Manchester’s Aquatic Centre last weekend.
Twelve-year-old Kieron, who is deaf, shone on the big stage, smashing his personal best times in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyke, 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly, winning four gold medals in all of these events and setting four British deaf swimming records for his age group.
