THURROCK boss Mark Stimson has penned a new deal at the club.
‘Stimmo’ will lead Ship Lane side Fleet for the 2014/15 season after a meeting with chairman Tommy South at the end of an ultimately disappointing season.
The 46-year-old, who took over at Ship Lane two years ago, looked set to guide Thurrock into the play-offs a year after they were relegated – but they but missed out in the unlikeliest of circumstances on the final day of the season.
A home defeat saw Fleet miss out on goal difference after Needham Market scored seven in their last game to nip into the play-offs at Thurrock’s expense.
However, Stimson has decided to stay on and will be looking to get Thurrock back in the Ryman Premier at the second time of asking.
In a statement on their website, Thurrock said: “Tommy was delighted to announce that Mark had accepted the offer along with his coaching staff.”
