Rocks boss says Rookery Hill is "like a lake"

NON LEAGUE: East Thurrock manager John Coventry admitted he was very doubtful their game at home to Harrow Borough will go ahead tomorrow. The Rocks boss described the condition of the pitch at Rookery Hill this week as “awful” and “like a lake”.

Rocks’ visit to Margate on Saturday was postponed so Coventry arranged a friendly with Tilbury, and he said it was very beneficial.

He used the game to give top-scorer Sam Higgins a 25-minute run out following his lengthy injury lay off, and was happy to see the striker come through with no adverse effects.

“He did well so hopefully we are moving in the right direction with him,” said Coventry.

Harrow, who are third from bottom in the Ryman Premier, lost 3-2 at home to Met Police on Tuesday.
