THURROCK MP Jackie Doyle-Price has warned businesses in Thurrock to prepare for road disruption during the Olympics.

Transport for London (TfL) has designated more than 109 miles of the capital’s roads as part of the Olympic Road network, including routes such as the A13.

The Conservative MP said: “I am very worried local companies whose business requires them to drive around East London will be severely impacted by the Games.

“TfL believes by circulating details of when they expect the traffic to be heavy, it will help businesses plan and avoid the road network at times of peak activity.

“They really believe people will avoid the roads and have even suggested my daily drive from Purfleet to Westminster will take less time!”

Ms Doyle-Price has urged any firms who may be affected to visit one of TFL’s advice surgeries.

She said: “There are things businesses can do to mitigate the impact the Olympics will have.”
