THURROCK Writers have been putting together their stories and poems for their anthology this month.

Tan Dhillon has sent off his competition entry of a short film documentary of a wartime local history experience, this was inspired by a story from Joy Ridgewell from a childhood memory.

Several of our members are also members of Brentwood Writers’ Circle and went to their 70th birthday celebrations.

Special guest speaker for the day was historical writer Paul Doherty, who gave an exciting talk with his knowledge of historical events that had everyone in awe.

Paul speaks several languages and can translate from Latin and the rare old Norman language found on old documents, an amazing man.

Several of our members enjoyed visits to the Thameside Theatre to see plays from the Drama Festival run by Thurrock Arts Council.
