THIEVES made off with a three figure sum from Bulphan Post Office on Saturday.

Two men went into the post office, in Church Road, at 3pm, and one of the men started talking to a female staff member.

While she was distracted, the other man stole the cash.

Police would not reveal how much was taken.

Investigating officer, Dc Paul O'Callaghan, said: "We need to hear from anyone that was in the area that may have seen a vehicle pull up outside the post office with men inside matching this description, and I am confident that someone may have noticed them given that it happened in the middle of the afternoon. If you know or saw anything, we want to hear from you.”

Both suspects were white men.

One was six foot tall, in his 20s and wore a dark top.

The other suspect was five foot four inches tall, in his 40s.

He was wearing a bright yellow t-shirt with black writing across it and blue jeans, and spoke with a South East accent.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Dc Paul O'Callaghan at the Thurrock CID target team on 0300 333 4444 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
