A SMALL tornado was spotted in the sky over Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham and East Tilbury on Saturday afternoon – and here are some of your pictures of it.

Eagle-eyed readers spotted the funnel tearing through the skies at around 1pm.

One of them was Natashia Taylor from Tilbury.

She said: “We saw this forming as we were driving across the Pitsea flyover.

“I kept an eye on it as we were driving along the A13, and my husband managed to figure out whereabouts it might touch down and parked up so we could watch it next to a field in Corringham Road, Stanford-Le-Hope.

“There were a couple of other cars also parked there too with people watching.

“It was absolutely amazing!

“The English weather is not so boring any more!”

One man from Stanford-le-Hope, who did not want to be named, said: “The strange thing about it was the weather just before and just after, it felt very warm, even hot for about five minutes before this happened, then a very strong, but still very warm, wind picked up then turned almost icy cold, then there was heavy rain.”
