A MAN raped a woman with special needs in her care home, a court heard.

Adekunle Adeleye, 40, is accused of taking advantage of the vulnerable 26-year-old in her assisted flat in Thurrock at about 2pm on December 4.

The woman, who has learning difficulties, mild autism, and the verbal reasoning of a child, was followed home by Adeleye while she walked back from a supermarket, Basildon Crown Court heard.

He is alleged to have raped her in three different ways during a 25-minute attack.

He is then alleged to have bragged about his conquest to a security guard at a local train station.

The security guard reported his concerns to police and Adeyele was arrested and interviewed.

He initially denied having sex with the woman and then made no comment when officers said they had discovered traces of his semen in the flat.

A recording of the interview the woman gave to police was played to jurors at the court.

In it she said she was approached by a man who claimed to be Nigerian, and did what he asked her to do because she was “terrified”.

David Wilson, prosecuting, said: “It is the Crown’s case that she was scared and went along with what she was being asked to do in a child-like way.”

Adeleye, of Nightingale Court, Chafford Hundred, denies three counts of rape.

The trial continues.
