EMERGENCY services were called after bleach leaked from a tanker near Lakeside shopping centre.
Fire crews were called by police to help clear away about two litres of the spilled chemical from a nearby roundabout about 8.15pm yesterday.
The lorry was traced to behind the Matalan Store at the shopping centre in West Thurrock.
The fire service's chemical specialist and decontamination officer attended alongside three crews from Grays and one from Orsett stations who spent half an hour at the scene.
