IN response to Peter Howie’s letter (Gazette, August 21) about plans to put traffic lights at the Orsett Cock roundabout, how right you are!

I’m sure the decision-makers have nothing better to do than to invent idiotic ideas to justify their existence.

Like Peter, I remember the Sainsbury’s roundabout bef-ore the installation of traffic lights – no problem at all – then suddenly the lights were installed!

Throughout their existence, at any time of day or night, it would be a case of drive to the roundabout and switch off my engine!

I always thought there was a reason for it, but I was wrong! Now they’ve finally seen sense and closed them.

But it seems they haven’t learnt a thing from that mistake and are now ready to repeat it!

If these people are stuck for something sensible to do, look at where problems actually exist, don’t keep creating more.

What about Grays town centre, there’s room for improvement there. – JOHN PRICE, Morant Road, Chadwell St Mary.
