Citizens Advice South Essex is looking for 'motivated, hardworking' volunteers, here's how you can join the team. 

The independent organisation is known for providing free, confidential, and impartial advice.

The charity also campaigns on big issues that affect people's lives as part of the Citizens Advice network across England and Wales.

Citizens Advice South Essex is looking for volunteers

Citizens Advice South Essex currently has 100 volunteers but it is looking to recruit more from all kinds of backgrounds so that they can continue to support local people with their problems.

These issues can include everything from debt and housing to benefits and employment problems.

Its volunteers need to contribute a minimum of 5 hours, 1 day per week, over most weeks. 

This can be done flexibly either in one of their local offices or even from home,

You might have to offer advice to people in person, online or over the phone  

Volunteers might choose to donate their time for a variety of reasons and this position might be of interest to students; people getting back into work after career breaks; people with part-time jobs; carers; and those who have retired.  

The role might suit someone who is looking to build up their skills, work experience or who is simply interested in making a difference in their local community.

How to apply to be a Citizens Advice South Essex volunteer

The ideal candidate should be "motivated, hardworking and enjoy being part of a team," according to Citizens Advice.

You'll get full training and there's no previous experience necessary.

You should be based in Basildon, Billericay, Brentwood, Castle Point, Rayleigh, Rochford, Thurrock or Wickford in Essex.

This is a part-time volunteer position with a permanent contract and there's no salary involved.
