A THREE car pile up brought rush hour gridlock to the Thurrock section of the M25.
The smash occurred at Junction 31 of the motorway near to the Thurrock Services, early on Friday evening.
Two fire crews from Grays and one from Orsett used specialist cutting equipment to free two motorists who were trapped in their cars as a result of the collision.
Firefighters rendered first aid to one of the victims while waiting for ambulance paramedics to arrive at the scene.
Both injured people were taken to the Queen's Hospital in Romford for treatment. Their injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The incident, which occurred at 4.40pm caused extensive disruption to traffic during evening rush hour.
