Crews tackle large field fire as residents advised to keep windows shut
Firefighters are on scene tackling a large field fire in Buckles Lane, South Ockendon.
A total of 17 fire engines are on scene, including five from the London Fire Brigade and a water bowser from Halstead.
The fire broke out shortly after 3pm and crews are still on scene tackling the blaze.
The fire service has advised residents living nearby to keep their windows closed due to the sheer volume of smoke being created.
A spokesman added: "Our firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible."
