A second arrest has been made in connection with the murder of John Hicks, 56, in Grays.
Mr Hicks was found in London Road in the early hours of Tuesday, July 3.
Having suffered a head injury, he was taken to hospital, where he sadly died on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 4.
A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this morning, Thursday, July 5.
A 19-year-old man was also arrested yesterday evening.
Both currently remain in custody.
The victim has provisionally been identified as local man John Hicks, known as Tattoo John, and a forensic post mortem examination is due to take place later today.
Detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information about Mr Hicks’ movements in the days before his death.
