Officers investigating the murder of Julie Hunt in West Thurrock want to identify the drivers of four vehicles who may have seen the assault take place.

Ms Hunt, 47, from Rainham, east London was seriously injured near to A1306 Arterial Road at around 8.30am on Friday, April 20.

Sadly, and despite the best efforts of paramedics, she died at the scene.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Tracey Harman, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “There were a number of vehicles driving past the scene of the assault as it was taking place and I need to speak to the drivers.

“In particular I am looking to trace the driver of a small black car, a small silver hatchback, a white hatchback, and a gold people carrier.

“I believe the drivers of these vehicles will have seen something or will have information which will help our investigation.”

Florin Ion, 31, of Ipswich Crescent, Birmingham has been charged with murder and is next due to appear in court on May 22.
