Police are hunting two men who held up a Co-Op armed with a crowbar.

Detectives investigating the robbery have released CCTV images of two men they want to identify.

Two men, one holding a crowbar, entered the Co-Op in Portsea Road, Tilbury, shortly before 9.45pm on Wednesday, August 23.

They stole a three figure sum of cash from the tills, alcohol and cigarettes before running out of the shop.

Two staff members who were in the shop at the time were not hurt.

One of the men was described as white, aged in his early 20s, around 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build.

He wore a dark hooded top with the hood tied up around his face.

The second man was carrying a green quilt cover printed with the Ben 10 cartoon character logo.

Officers are now in a position to release pictures of two men they want to identify.

Although they are not the clearest quality, it’s hoped someone may recognise them.

Anyone who can identify them or has any information about the robbery is asked to contact Dc Samantha Lewin at Grays CID on 101.
