"September has seen a few changes to the team.
"We were joined by Sergeant Lee Stannard from Grays Local Policing team joining us, and we are now one of the only Community policing teams within the country to be chosen to have officers from the ‘Police Now’ scheme join us.
"This means that we not only have extra resources to cover Thurrock, but officers who will specialise in introducing innovative ways to combat anti-social behaviour in specific areas have joined the team.
"PCs Steve Fraser and Rowan Perrior are looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"PCSOs Sheri Howell and Aimee Dilloway kicked off the month when they discovered a suspicious lorry on the A1306. The lorry was found to be stolen and on false plates.
"PC Adam Colbear located a stolen trailer on September 4 in Stanford- le-Hope. The trailer was seized and returned to the registered owner.
"A large amount of cannabis, approximately 10 kilos, was seized after being discovered "floating" on the Thames river on September 9. PCs Andy Cayless and Adam Colbear assisted with the seizure of the drugs.
"PC Paul Glensman performed an arrest for drugs possession after assisting Grays LPT on September 15 with an incident in Stanford-le-Hope.
"The suspect was searched by PC Glensman and found to be in possession of a class A substance.
"A Community Protection Warning was issued to a Tilbury resident on September 17 by PC Rob Watts, after an ongoing hate incident.
"This has allowed certain restrictions which, if breached, can be dealt with as a criminal offence.
"PCs Adam Colbear, Neil Brand and Andy Cayless dealt with a cannabis cultivation in a property in Grays on September 16. The plants and equipment used were all seized for destruction.
"Several patrols of Grays high street have taken place over the last month, working alongside Thurrock council and Kingdom officers enforcing the PSPO (Public spaces protection order).
"PCs Andy Cayless and Steve Fraser seized alcohol from people in breach of this on September 19, and PC Rob Watts seized alcohol on September 24.
"Operation Aidant was implemented on September 27, with the team visiting a local business to ascertain the identity of people who worked there.
"The operation is designed to locate and combat human trafficking and modern day slavery. We were pleased to discover that there was no suspicious activity at the premises.
"Also on September 27 one of our new members, PC Steve Fraser completed his first arrest for our team when he and his colleagues attended Moto services in Thurrock after reports of a suspicious lorry and discovered 5 illegal immigrants in the refrigerated unit. The group are now being dealt with by immigration.
"Youths in Purfleet misunderstood the meaning of “Dummy” on September 28 when they attempted to light a box of dummy fireworks, which proceeded to cause a small fire.
"PCs Andy Cayless and Neil Brand assisted Fire officers in extinguishing the blaze. The irony was not lost on the officers involved.
"PCSO Laura Coombes located a stolen van in Purfleet on September 28, which had been stolen in a robbery.
"PCSOs Sheri Howell and JoJo Mitchell located a stolen van on the same day in the location of Orsett Heath.
"Come along to our next Local Community Meeting on October 6 at Corringham village hall, Springhouse road, Stanford Le Hope from 7pm, to discuss policing priorities, crime trends and community related issues.
