Tilbury Sea Scout Group celebrated their 70th birthday on a special Birthday Group Camp recently.
Dozens of intrepid youngsters headed out to Thriftwood campsite in Brentwood where the camp was decorated with balloons and lights.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts built dens and bivouacs on site.
Some were even “brave enough” to spend the night in them, lead volunteer Ian said.
Other activities included crate stacking, cresta run, water rollers and fishing.
The scouts finished the camp with a large cake in the style of the scout scarf.
One young Scout, James, from Tilbury, said: “I really liked the cresta run because it was fun and cool. I also liked singing around the campfire.”
Lead volunteer Ian said: “It was a great way to celebrate the Group’s milestone and it meant the whole Group, from Beavers through to the Leaders, could be involved.”
