Woodside Academy was flooded by mini-superheroes on wheels for ‘The Big Pedal’ recently. Children and staff cycled to school, took part in cycle clubs and had cycle lessons as part of the annual 'Bike-It' campaign run by Sustrains. The school also held a Super Hero day at the end of April where staff and children dressed as their favourite super heroes. The school’s final tally in place of over 2,000 schools taking place this year is soon to be announced, with the school hoping it beats its position last year of 106th. A spokesman for the school said: “Children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed the two weeks which is run by Sustrains.” Woodside remain the only Essex school to have achieved Bike-It Gold.
