THE Port of Tilbury Police held an appeal to help victims of the devastating Nepalese earthquake.
Truck drivers and police pulled together to collect £1,000 for the Thurrock Nepalese and Ghurkha Community Association.
Andrew Masson, chief police officer, said: “A significant number of the Thurrock Nepalese and Ghurkha community are employed within the port, and are valued members of the port community.
“Many drivers visiting the port wanted to support those who were personally affected by the tragedy.”
