BUSINESSES and education leaders from across Thurrock got together this morning to find out ways they could better work together.
The event was held at the High House Production Park, Purfleet.
About 40 people from local businesses, schools, colleges, Anglia Ruskin University and the public sector – including the Skills Funding Agency – were at the two hour Business and Education Summit.
Council leader John Kent, said afterwards: “This event is one I would hope to repeat, but really once businesses and school leaders get to know each other better, I think it will happen automatically.”
“Most of the time we were talking about the issues and opportunities facing our young people, our businesses and our education and training providers.
“There’s already been some good work done, hopefully this will build and strengthen the education and business networks across the borough.”
