THE longest-serving volunteer in a charity shop in Corringham has been presented with a silver carriage clock for her 25 years’ help.
Ann Pullen, 86, volunteers at the Barnado’s shop in St John’s Way.
The grandmother of seven joined the charity when she moved to the area after losing her husband.
She said: “I didn’t know anyone when I moved here, but now everyone knows me by my first name and people say ‘hello’.”
Shop manager Pamela Love said: “She’s been like a mum to me!”
