THE Swinging Sixties will be coming to the Thameside Theatre, in Grays, for one night only in April as three legends of the era come to town to stomp the boards.

The “British Buddy Holly”, Mike Berry, is one of three iconic stars coming to the Thameside with the Hit Parade Heroes show, which will also headline John Leyton and special guest Cliff Bennett.

Mike Berry will be backed by the Outlaws and perform hits including Sunshine of Your Smile and, of course, his Tribute to Buddy Holly.

He will be joined by Cliff Bennett, who used to front the Rebel Rousers, plus one of his original sax players, who will be belting out a selection of foot-stomping numbers from their heyday.

Frinton-born actor and singer John Leyton, pictured above, star of TV show Jericho and the movie the Great Escape, will perform all his hits, including Johnny Remember Me, Wild Wind and Son This is She, plus his some of alltime favourites from the Sixties.

Event promoter Peter Stockton has three pairs of tickets to give away to readers who can successfully fill in the missing words in the following statements: 1: Mike Berrry’s first hit was Tribute to Buddy ***** 2: John Leyton’s first hit was Johnny Remember ** 3: Cliff Bennett’s hit Got to Get You into My Life was written by Lennon and *********

The missing words should be emailed direct to Peter at peterstockton69@bt internet.com by Sunday, February 14.

The show will start at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 11. Tickets, at £19, are available from the Thameside’s box office on 0845 3005264 or go online at www.thurrock.gov.uk/theatre
