Great Berry kids were given a 'sneak-peek' at the halls of power yesterday from MP Stephen Metcalfe.

They are the second set of school kids to get a personal tour of Westminster from their MP.

Last week, schoolchildren from Kingswood Junior School took the trip.

South Basildon and East Thurrock MP Stephen Metcalfe explained to both sets of kids what it was like to work as a Member of Parliament.

Stephen Metcalfe commented: “I am so pleased to have the chance to meet local pupils from the constituency again in Parliament. It is a wonderful way to begin my week in Westminster.”

Mr Metcalfe added: “It is so important that we teach our children about how important Parliament is, especially this year, to the lives of the British people and the wider world.”

The Great Berry Primary School pupils visited both chambers of the House of Commons and House of Lords, and had lessons on the history of the Palace of Westminster.
