CHILDREN at a pre-school in Corringham are celebrating after a rundown sandpit was fixed by a team of local builders for free.
The pit, in the gardens of Lampits Pre-school, in Herd Lane, was in need of a revamp and a team of local builders, led by Craig Bowers, offered to restore it.
The builders who work for Stanford-le-Hope company, Trustacraig, replaced 30 timber posts, replenished the play sand area and then made it look even more impressive with a bridge.
Tracey Butcher, manager at the pre-school, said: “We can’t thank Craig and his team enough. All the children, from the youngest member of the pre-school to the oldest pupil in the holiday club love playing in the pit.”
