THE leader of a right wing political party has denied harassing someone he suspected of living with an Al Qaeda terrorist.

Paul Golding, 32, leader of Britain First, has denied harassing Munazza Munawar at her home in Hepburn Close, Chafford Hundred, on April 3.

Golding arrived at Basildon Magistrates’ Court flanked by a number of security guards wearing Britain First polo shirts and various ear-pieces.

Golding pleaded not guilty to harassment, but read out a statement in court in which he said he admitted going to the address in Hepburn Close, but that he had gone to confront a man believed to be an Al Qaeda terrorist.

Golding told the court that he denied his actions had harrassed Ms Munawar.

Golding also denied one count of wearing a Britain First uniform in Hepburn Close.

Britain First is a British nationalist party formed in 2011 by former members of the British National Party.

Golding’s case was adjourned until November 6 for a case management hearing at Basildon Magistrates’ Court.

His trial is schduled for January 5.

Golding was released on bail.
