THE Salvation Army in Stanford- le- Hope held its fourth annual Holiday at Home for lonely and elderly residents last month.
The three-day event, in Corringham Road, started with Down Memory Lane.
Guests talked about the two world wars and had the chance to taste Trench Cake – a recipe from the First WorldWar.
Other activities included glass painting, arts and crafts and making a memory book.
On the last day, the back garden was turned into a beach, with a paddling pool and a sandpit.
There was a visit from an ice cream van and fish and chips were served. Louis Sorrell-Wilde entertained by singing some Rat Pack songs.
