A MOTORCYCLIST has died after losing control of his bike and hitting fence posts at the side of the road.
The man, who was in his 30s, was travelling southbound along the A1089 near Orsett shortly after 7pm yesterday when he appears to have lost control of his white Honda motorbike, hitting a series of fence posts on the left hand side of the carriageway and ending up in a field.
Moments before the crash he had been travelling eastbound on the A13 and, although paramedics attempted to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A section of the road was closed for about five hours while debris was cleared away and forensic collision investigators tried to establish the cause of the crash.
Anyone with information in connection with the crash is urged to contact Essex Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01245 240590 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
