Thurrock Art Trail is set to launch the Essex Summer of Art at the High House Production Park.
The five-month celebration is taking place across the county, but will launch in Thurrock – a sign of Purfleet’s move to becoming the county’s most important arts hub.
Thurrock Arts will also showcasing its own art trail with a contemporary group exhibition at the Production Park on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2. The wider Thurrock trail will continue until Sunday, June 16.
Thurrock-based artists featured in the High House grounds are international sculptor Lata Upadhyaya, Mick Murphy, Violet Gray, Kwok Lee, Tim Harrold, filmmaker Jonathan Harold and others to be announced.
There will be painting, photography, ceramics, textile and sculpture featured at the event, all showcased by Thurrock Arts, a group formed in 2012 to “encourage, facilitate and promote participation in contemporary arts within the borough”.
