  • Thurrock 5 - 1 Cray Wanderers
  • Ryman Premier League
  • Ship Lane
  • Grays Athletic come from behind to beat Barking 2 - 1 and progress through to the last four of the Essex Senior Cup!

And that's the final kick of the game. Luke Wanadio is picked out in acres of space on the edge of the box. He takes a touch to set himself and fires under Andy Walker.

Fantastic five for Thurrock.

They've been excellent today - that's their finest win under Stimson!

GOAL! THURROCK 5 - 1 Cray Wanderers - Luke Wanadio, 93'

Another Cray attack, late in the game, but after having the ball pulled back to him, Clark skies it.

Cray come forward again, but this time Bremner sends his shot high over the bar.

Ah it's another stunning goal by Green as he chips the ball over Walker with the outside of his boot from 10 yards, but he's offside.

How Thurrock haven't scored a fifth I don't know, as Imbert goes very close. Good save by Walker.

Great pressure relieving run by Cook sees him earn Fleet a corner

Tyrone Sterling crosses just wide of the goal from the left. But Fleet looking comfortable here.

First meaningful attack from Cray since they scored and it comes to nothing. Nice play in the middle by Clark to beat Thurgood and Norris, but he failed to pick a decent pass as he broke forward.

13 minutes to go here and the game is petering out. Cray are beat, Thurrock have taken foot off the gas a little.

Cook signed from East Thurrock recently. He's already been told to take a green underlay off by the referee, very odd.

And Bunce has scored again at Barking! Grays lead!

Thurrock sub:

Charlie Stimson replaced by Harry Cook

Good play by Ryan Imbert, holds off the attentions of Mark Willy before flashing a shot across goal.

Grays have equalised at Barking. Danny Bunce in the 80th minute!

Thurrock sub:

Ryan Imbert on for Harry Honesty. He's played well again tonight. That front three of Wanadio, Stimson, Honesty has been excellent.

Free kick for Fleet now, right hand corner of the box. Thurgood delivers, but Cray clear.

Bizarre scenes down the Thurrock right. Honesty goes by his man, but the linesman flags to indicate ball out. Cray make a mess of the throw and concede a throw themselves. Honesty is released, he cuts the ball back to Green, but Walker makes a great save at his feet.

The corner is headed just over by Stimson.

Wanadio booked for Fleet. Late tackle on the left flank. Good crossing opportunity for Cray. Good header clear by Guest.

The ten men of Cray have a goal back. Paul Vines is on hand to volley home on the line after Hughes had palmed out Bremner's effort.

GOAL! Thurrock 4 - 1 CRAY WANDERERS - Paul Vines

Smasing counter attack led by Harry Honesty. He takes the ball into the Cray half, plays the ball right to Wanadio, who takes the ball outside his marker to the touchline before cutting the ball back to Honesty to tap home from point blank range.

4-0. Should be game over.

GOAL! THURROCK 4 - 0 Cray Wanderers - Honesty, 52'

Couple of corners now for Cray, applying pressure for the first time in the half. All are dealt with and Thurrock break....

Been very impressed with Danny Green tonight. Good feet, smart passer and works very hard. Drifts in off the wing and of course, he's scored an absolute pearler.

Low to the near post and deflected behind off a Thurrock player. Positive start for Fleet though.

Don't want to see this game fizzle out and finish 3-0!

Very early corner for Thurrock...

We're back underway at Ship Lane

Second half just underway at Barking where Grays trail Essex Senior League side Barking 1 - 0 in the Essex Senior Cup.

Leigh Bremner is then booked for dissent as Stimson receives treatment. He's disputed every decision. Can't say that booking's not deserved.

Red card for Joe Vines!

Terrible half for Cray gets worse as he's shown a straight red for a high challenge on Charlie Stimson in the middle of the pitch.

Shot from range by Cray is well wide. They've hardly troubled Hughes in this first half.

Leigh Bremner lucky not to be booked for dissent as he bemoans a decision by the referee to award a free kick as Thurrock break.

Nice little snap shot there of where it's not going so well for Cray, they pile five players forward to close down Richie Jones, who's struggling to clear his lines on the edge of his own box. But as he does scoop it away, the visitors are far too committed and there's lots of space for Thurrock's midfield to work the break. They don't on this occasion, but there's space all over the pitch and Cray really are leaving their defence exposed.

After a rip-roaring first 25 mins, the game has coolled off a little now. Thurrock still working exceptionally hard off the ball. They're first to everything but not holding the ball quite as well.

Honesty has just gone on a jinking run into the box, but his shot spins off the side of his foot high and wide.

Good ball into the box from Tyrone Sterling as Cray, shellshocked, look for a way back into the game. But Hughes collects.

That's sensational from Green. He saw Walker off his line and from the edge of the centre circle, just in Cray's half, he let fly. The ball looped beautifully over Walker to make it 3-0.

He won't forget that in a hurry. What a goal.

And what a half for Fleet!

GOAL! THURROCK 3 - 0 Cray Wanderers - Danny Green, 24'

Thurrock applying pressure to a constantly exposed back four pays off again. This time, Thurrock win the ball back. Wanadio cuts in hits a low drive from 20 yards which skims off the surface into the goal. Walker should have done better, but that's a great effort from Luke.

GOAL! THURROCK 2 - 0 Cray Wanderers - Luke Wanadio, 21'

Thurrock much quicker than the visitors to everything at the moment. Off the ball work rate is fantastic.

Then at the other end, again, Thurrock catch the defence 2 v 2 and the ball spills loose to Stimson on the edge of the box, he fires a shot just over. Good game this!

Off the bar! Fantastic ball played through to Jack Clark, he shows a great turn of pace, carries the ball into the box, turns inside of Guest before shooting across goal. His effort hits the top of the bar.

Great chance for Thurrock as Harry Honesty catches the Crays defence exposed, he has only the keeper to beat but his shot trickles just wide.

Barking 1 - 0 Grays

Cray seeing a little bit more of the ball now. But Thurrock working hard.

The visitors winger looks a threat down the right. He's got quick feet, but Ebsworth is coping well at the moment.

Great stuff again from Fleet, lovely build up and Ebsworth then elects to carry the ball into the box, he chips it back off the byline and Wanadio only just fails to turn it in. Cray clear!

Emphatic from Thurgood as he smashes it to the keeper's right. Unsaveable.

Great start for Fleet. Two corners now as well... first is punched behind, the second goes straight behind.

Very positive though from the home side, looking to get the ball in the box at every opportunity.

GOAL! THURROCK 1 - 0 Cray Wanderers - Stuart Thurgood, 3'

Stimson into the box, through on goal, felled from behind

Game's underway!

We're about set here. The teams are out and now changing ends.

Looking forward to this!

Cray Wanderers are in fact one of the teams that Thurrock could feasibly catch if they can string a run of results together.

Tonight's visitors to Ship Lane sit in 13th and have a far better away record than they do a home one! But after 20 games, they have 25 points.

Thurrock, after 16 games have 16 points - a point per game a telling stat on how Thurrock have not quite had that cutting edge to turn one point into three at times.

So in their last game, Thurrock won 2-1 away to Lewes. Now really is the time for Fleet to begin climbing the table and building some momentum. They've promised much but delivered little so far.

With games in hand, they have a great chance to mount a charge up the table.

Here are the teams:

Hughes; Jones, Ebsworth, Guest, Jeffries; Thurgood (c), Green, Norris; Wanadio, Stimson, Honesty.

Subs: Turpin, Viner, Imbert, Griffin, Cook.

Cray Wanderers:

Walker; Burgess, Sterling, Fray, Willy (c);  J Vines, P Vines, Stavrinou, Clark; Bremner, Phillips.

Subs: Parkinson, Power, Aaron, Dolby, Hall

Thurrock's game on Saturday, which was supposed to be at home to Lowestoft Town, was postponed by the referee because of a muddy patch in the middle of the pitch.

The club called it a "bizarre" decision.

But it's game on tonight.

Good evening!

Welcome to Ship Lane.

Thurrock vs Cray Wanderers is tonight's featured Gazette match, while Grays Athletic are away to Barking in the Essex Senior Cup quarter-finals.
