Council tweeting for advent

First published in News

THURROCK Council is making the most of Twitter this Christmas.

The authority is using the social networking site for its version of an Advent calendar, tweeting relevant information every day.

The tweet on Saturday, December 1, was to remind people to wear a red ribbon for World Aids Day and Monday’s promoted this year’s pantomime at the Thameside Theatre.

The council will also be using the service to let followers know when its road gritting lorries will be on the streets.

Follow the council @thurrockcouncil or use the hashtag #thurrockwinter

So, what are we supposed to do if we do not use social media websites? Also, when there's anything relevant to me or my family going on in the borough, why is it always on a weekday, during the day? Some of do go to work, you know.

But Thurrockbob, what about those who don't have access to a computer - and those who don't want to bother with them, why should they be disadvantaged?
